Speech Bubbles for Yarn Spinner
A downloadable asset
This Yarn Spinner for Unity Add-on provides two easy-to-use and easy-to-customise prefabs for creating speech bubbles for your Yarn Spinner dialogue.
⚠️ This add-on requires Yarn Spinner for Unity and Unity 2022.3 or newer.
Speech Bubbles for Yarn Spinner provides a Casual Bubble and a Formal Bubble prefab. Both are customisable, powerful, and extremely flexible:
- customise fonts, colours, and styles of bubbles
- optional character nameplate
- flexible anchor point for bubble stem
- lock bubbles to camera, or not, your choice
- works for 2D or 3D games
We also ship two example projects: 2D Sidescroller, and 3D Top-down.
Documentation is provided at the official Yarn Spinner Documentation: https://docs.yarnspinner.dev/yarn-spinner-for-unity/unity-add-ons
For support, please email hello@yarnspinner.dev or join the Official Yarn Spinner Discord.
Examples:
2D Sidescroller
This shows off both the casual and formal bubbles, with and without nameplates, and demonstrates some basic customisation of each.
3D Top-down
This shows off a few simple customisations, and using the bubbles in a 3D environment.

Sadly doesn't work with V3, nor has been updated to work with URP.
For a $50 package I would have expected at 'least' to work with the current version or state that it's not the case.
Hello!
Thanks for buying! We have updated it to work with both these things, and you shouldn’t be having this issue.
If you’d like to email paris@yarnspinner.dev I’m happy to help! We also have a Discord :)
